Beer Review: Shred Juicification Hazy IPA
As the name proudly states, Juicification is Shred Beer Co.’s unapologetic dive into the lush, fruit-forward world of the modern New England IPA. This flagship-level hazy is designed to extract maximum tropical aromatics while keeping any harsh, lingering bitterness entirely out of the equation.
It pours a gorgeous, opaque sunflower yellow with a dense, milky turbidity that perfectly catches the light. A soft, pillowy white head crowns the glass, leaving a thick blanket of lacing behind with every sip.
Tasting Notes
- Aroma: A total tropical greenhouse explosion. The nose is driven by a powerful wave of sweet passionfruit, bruised mango, and fresh papaya. Right behind the initial tropical rush is a bright pop of squeezed pineapple juice and a subtle, sweet orange creamsicle note.
- Flavor Profile: The palate mirrors the aroma with an incredibly juicy delivery. It opens with an immense splash of tropical punch, ripe stone fruits, and candied grapefruit peel. A soft, bready, doughy malt core steps in mid-palate, acting as a plush canvas that rounds out the heavy hop oils without introducing cloying sweetness.
- Mouthfeel: Wonderfully soft, silky, and medium-bodied. Thanks to a heavy hand of flaked oats and wheat, it glides across the tongue with a smooth, velvety texture and a gentle, restrained carbonation that enhances its juice-like character.
- Finish: Exceptionally smooth and clean. The traditional bitter bite is replaced by a soft, refreshing finish that leaves a sweet trail of citrus pulp, mango skin, and a very light touch of resinous pine.
