This collaboration marks two decades of Kern River Brewing Company’s craft legacy, teaming up with the hop masters at Riip Beer Co. to deliver a definitive West Coast IPA. It is a celebration of the style’s roots while utilizing modern hopping techniques and ultra-premium ingredients.
Designed for those who appreciate the “clear and bitter” philosophy, this IPA pours a brilliant pale gold with a persistent white head. It focuses on a lean, crisp malt profile that stays out of the way, allowing a complex array of lupulin to take center stage.
Tasting Notes
- Aroma: The initial nose is an explosion of pink grapefruit, fresh pine resin, and damp forest floor. As it warms, secondary layers of passionfruit and lime zest emerge, backed by a subtle, clean cracker-like malt sweetness.
- Flavor Profile: The palate follows the aroma with high-intensity citrus pith and resinous pine. There is a distinct “dankness” characteristic of the Riip influence, featuring notes of sauvignon blanc grapes and blueberry skin.
- Mouthfeel: Exceptionally light-bodied and bone-dry. The carbonation is brisk, helping scrub the palate and preparing you for the next sip.
